The Informal Concepts About Print assessment was designed for checking the progress of each student’s print concepts – and therefore what we need to tweak in our print referencing work.
Overall Information
The Informal Concepts About Print assessment is completed with the student present and was developed to be used with any book. Since we don’t want to repeat the print concepts test from the Emergent Assessment more than once or twice a year, this was designed to be a check-in that educators can do more frequently – approximately once per term. This lets us check how well our print referencing is going – using the bookmarks and other print referencing techniques included on the Shared Reading page and on the Writing from Adults page.
